Probiotics have been shown to be effective to relieve some of the behvioral effects of chronic fatigue syndrome. Ng explains that one of their modes of action is the ability to reduce inflammation. This is true in animals that are negative for Il-10 which as we noted regulates the severity of sickness syndrome according to some studies. He explains for example, Lactobacillus is able to improve barrier functions in vivo.
