EGCG Induces Expression of Nrf2 and UGT1A in Colon Cancer Cells

Title: Modulation of nrf2 and ugt1a expression by epigallocatechin-3-gallate in colon cancer cells and balb/c mice.

Summary: The author writes that EGCG has shown anti-proliferative effects in cancer cells lines. This new study shows that EGCG provides some of its benefits by through the induction of the Nrf2 pathway and increasing expression of UGT1A. This study warrants more studies on possible cancer treatments using EGCG.
